Because they knew if they slacked off and let some pretty new shiny cola swoop in and woo (Yes, I said "woo". It is almost Valentine's Day!) them, and gain top-of-mind awareness Coca-cola could very well lose their market share. So, they continue to advertise and continue to stay on top!
